Introducing: Jarmo Beemsterboer

Trainee Junior Business Development Den Helder Airport

My love for aviation started at an early age when my father and grandfather regularly took me to one of the spotters' spots around Schiphol. After obtaining my high school diploma, I therefore also started the training 'aviation' at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA). From the second year of the training I started to specialize in the operational side of aviation, in which I am currently completing the last year of honors specialization.Aviation Management' follow. Because of this honors specialization, I was able to look behind the scenes last year and did assignments at Eurocontrol, various airlines, airports & MRO parties and 'The World Aviation Festival', among others. In addition, I was responsible with fellow students for organizing 'The 18th Aviation Management Conference'.

For my graduation research, I have been the new intern at Den Helder Airport since last month in the position of Junior Business Developer. Due to the importance of innovation and sustainability in both the aviation and offshore industry, Den Helder Airport and DHSS have jointly asked me to do a graduation research into an innovative initiative around Den Helder Airport. During my internship period, I will write a thesis research into the possibilities of drone operations from Den Helder Airport, in which, among other things, the dual use (the use of manned and unmanned aviation vehicles) of the airport will be investigated.

Besides aviation, my interests are broad, from discovering Europe on my motorcycle to spending the entire weekend in the kitchen making the most delicious dishes. In addition to the delicious food, I try to achieve my sporting goals while skating on the ice rink, running through my hometown Alkmaar and mountain biking through the dunes.

In the coming period at Den Helder Airport and DHSS, I hope to be able to achieve good and progressive results for both myself and the airport, if you yourself have knowledge of the subject of drone operations and would like to share this or other knowledge with me. I would greatly appreciate sharing. Do not hesitate to send me a message on LinkedIn or via email:
