From 23 October 2023 to 22 December 2023, road traffic cannot use the N99 near the Kooy Bridge in both directions. Traffic will be diverted from the N99 to the N249 and the N9 (Anna Paulowna and De Stolpen). Through traffic in the direction of Den Helder and Texel from Amsterdam/-Haarlem and south of it is advised to drive via the N9. Traffic must take into account extra crowds and at least 30 minutes extra travel time.
During the Christmas period, from December 23, 2023 to January 7, 2024, the bridge will be temporarily opened to road traffic.
Slow traffic (such as agricultural vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians), emergency services and public transport will be able to cross the bridge during the work. However, they must take into account width restrictions and a longer travel time.
The work on the Kooy Bridge will last until May 2024 and will be carried out in three phases. The above limitations concern the first phase. As soon as the planning for phases 2 and 3 is known, this will be announced on Den Helder Airport's website and Facebook page.
