It is a global challenge to stop all CO2 emissions between 2030 and 2050 and thus further limit global warming to just 1.5 degrees.<\/p><p>Due to the war in Ukraine, the call is growing louder to say goodbye to Russian gas and at the same time give our own energy transition a boost.<\/p><p>The fact remains that in the energy transition we will still need fossil fuels in the coming years to meet the needs of humans. We see that gas companies are considering exploiting fields that were not profitable a year ago. This does not benefit the process of the energy transition, but extracting &#039;Dutch&#039; gas saves more CO2 than imported gas from Russia.<\/p><p>As a leading full-service provider, DHSS is the point of contact for offshore energy-related companies in the field of shipping agency services, port logistics, warehousing and helicopter operations. DHSS relieves all stakeholders involved in the offshore energy-related industry. For both the gas market and the offshore wind industry.<\/p><p><strong>Transition to offshore wind<\/strong><\/p><p>Where DHSS originally only served the oil and gas market with its logistics services, the offshore wind market has also been added. The first involvement in offshore wind started in 2016 with the construction of the Gemini Offshore Wind Farm, above Schiermonnikoog. This wind farm was built by Siemens Gamesa and Van Oord. CHC Helicopters had the flight contract for both parties and DHSS acted as the link between carrier and offshore operator. Coordination of the helicopter transport of the technicians and the ship&#039;s crew from Den Helder Airport, while ship operations were provided from Eemshaven. For the first time, we were introduced to a market that was new to us at Den Helder Airport.<\/p><p>Since then, DHSS has been involved in all built and under construction wind farms on the Dutch continental shelf through our &#039;logistics unburdening concept&#039;, using Den Helder Airport as home base or helicopter operators who have their home base here.<\/p><p>Its wings have also spread abroad. Why? Because our model appeals to customers. One point of contact for the customer who immediately has a total picture of the logistics required in the operation, both by ship and by helicopter. As responsible director, our people plan and coordinate the total logistics, in very close communication with all stakeholders and (local) supply chain.<\/p><p>In terms of helicopter logistics, it has become apparent that the parties based at Den Helder Airport are unique in the field of offshore helicopter activities. We try to involve every party in our growth and to include it in it.
