Den Helder Airport inspires young girls during Girls' Day 2026
Den Helder Airport looks back on a successful and inspiring participation in Girls' Day 2026. During this national day, which focuses on getting girls excited about technology and IT, we welcomed a group of students from Villa aan Zee to our airport.
The day began with a warm welcome at Vice Versa, where the girls were introduced to the program over a drink. Next, they received a tour of CHC and visited Peterson. They also took a look at our security department, where they learned more about the security processes at the airport.
At Biardo, the students were introduced to survival suits and their importance in aviation. The day concluded with a visit to the airport fire brigade, where they gained an impressive insight into the work and the role of technology in emergency situations.
Girls' Day offers girls aged 10 to 15 the chance to experience technology and IT in practice. By introducing them to various disciplines and professionals within the sector, this day helps broaden their horizons and discover future possibilities.
Den Helder Airport is proud to contribute to this and thus play a role in inspiring the next generation in aviation.
We thank all participants and involved partners for their efforts and contribution to this successful day.
