Den Helder Airport is a strategic offshore airport (Netherlands Offshore Aviation Mainport) that plays a crucial role in the energy transition and offshore logistics. Den Helder Airport specializes in facilitating helicopter transport for the offshore industry and is explicitly developing towards unmanned and electric aviation.
In the coming years, various strategic and innovative developments will be realized that further strengthen the regional and national position of the airport.
Den Helder Airport is a Limited Partnership and is composed of the managing partner Luchthaven Den Helder BV (Municipality of Den Helder 100% shareholder) and the limited partner CHC Den Helder BV. Both partners participate for 50%.
The Supervisory Board of Luchthaven Den Helder BV (LDH BV) is tasked with supervising the policy of the Executive Board and the general course of business within LDH BV. The Supervisory Board advises the Executive Board.
In accordance with the retirement schedule, a vacancy has arisen at Luchthaven Den Helder BV for a Commissioner.
Required qualities and experience
- Sustainable aviation and energy transition: Knowledge of innovations within aviation, including electric flight, charging infrastructure, energy storage, and alternative fuels.
- A network within or around (military) aviation, sustainable technology, or government agencies is a plus.
- Experience and training in supervisory, advisory, and/or managerial roles or supervisory board experience is a plus.
- Independent, critical, but also connecting and collaborative in strategic decision-making.
Time commitment and availability
The Supervisory Board meets in person at the location in Den Helder at least four times a year. If necessary, interim meetings may take place via Microsoft Teams.
